Fitness Equipment that FITS you

Seems like every week I hear on TV, the radio or by word-of-mouth about losing weight, exercising, joining a gym…

It’s UNAVOIDABLE!!!  We can’t get away from the word “image.”  Whether your image is the way you look or your personality it is everywhere we go.  Losing weight for many can be a struggle.  I have been using my elliptical trainer on and off now for about a month and I really haven’t seen too much changes, other than feeling more energetic and happy that I have stuck to my routine.  I’m really hoping to see some sort of difference SOON.

Does anyone have any suggestions about a routine I should be doing or a meal plan (types of food) that has worked?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks

My grandfather just recently went to the doctor and was told that he needed to increase his daily exercise and continue on his low-fat diet.  To know ones surprise my grandfather was not too thrilled when he heard he would have to continue eating “healthy” foods and snacks and now increase his daily exercise.  Now, my grandfather had an exercise bike that looked like it was from the 50’s so we decided he was in need for an update we bought him an upright exercise bike that surprisingly he LOVES.  For the first week he used it 15 minutes/day and now he is up to 20 minutes a day, progressively becoming more and more into the whole idea of “exercising.”

Fast Food – Too Accessible?

Some days we find ourselves in a hurry and need to grab a bite to eat…where do we look? . . . FAST FOOD.  When I drive home from work I pass 5 fast food chains and they are all in neon bright lights and persuasive deals, but should we eat those convenient foods just becaue they are so convenient??  After eating something that is calorie filled working it off is a must, either running on your treadmill or elliptical trainer burning that burger and fries off is necessary, if not repeatedlyconsuming fast food can lead to health problems.  A friend had told me that she heard New York was trying to pass a tax on soda to encourage people to drink less soda.  I’m wondering if America will ever get to the point of doing something with Fast Food Chains??

What do you think?

To be Physically Beautiful

These days outer appearance means more than we think…being physcially “beautiful” can make or break a first impression.  Now, we would all hope that statement was not true, but in reality carrying yourself confidently is beautiful.  I was reading an article about a young boy (14 years old) who was given acne medication for his case of “mild” acne.  The boy took the medication as directed right before bed and woke up in the middle of the night complaining he was having problems breathing.  He then died in the hospital due to a reaction with the medication.

His mother stated, “”My son was fit and healthy. He was 6ft tall and physically very fit. He excelled at rugby and trained and played very hard. I’m mystified by his death as is my entire family.”

This story proves that we think appearance is what counts, but in my opinion taking medication (pills) for something that every teen and even adults go through seems extreme.  When I get a blemish here and there I always use a female acne treatment that I put on my face NOT in my mouth.

Is Exercising the Brain Bad?

I was reading an article about exercising the brain, not to get it confused with exercise to lose weight.  Anyways, apparently exercising your brain at an older age can create more of a memory loss.  For more details click here.

Heart Attack Grill

King-Mag.com referred to the Heart Attack Grill as the greatest restaurant.  After looking at the article and visiting the actual site it looks more like the UNHEALTHIEST restaurant around.  The menu consists of items, such as french fries cooked in lard, burgers with 2 lbs of meat totaling an average of 8,000 calories and that is just for ONE MEAL!!  I’m wondering how many of their customers actually end up having heart attacks??

Another bonus to finish a meal there is getting an escort to your car in a wheelchair by a waitress dressed as a nurse…lol  Those customers need to find an exercise to lose weight if they keep eating at the Heart Attack Grill on a regular basis.

  4. Tea (Black Tea)
  5. Chicken Soup

Britain’s Fattest Teenager Loses near 300 Pounds

The youngest person to ever have gastric bypass was Britain’s teenage, Malissa Jones.  At age 16 she ate 15,000 calories per day and at her age it is recommended to only eat 2,000!!!  Instead of buying herself her favorite candybars she should have been considering a folding treadmill!!  The article stated, “She was so hooked on eating she’d even raid the freezer in the middle of the night and gobble down partially-thawed raw burgers.”

After reading the article Malissa said that she ate her emotions because of all the family trauma going on in her life.  Although there were risks for someone as young as her to receive a gastric bypass she decided that she would have died without it either way.
