Benefits of Folding Treadmill

When I was looking for a treadmill, it was really difficult to find an exercise machine that would fit my measurement requirements.  It was so important that it fit in a particular part of my room where it wouldn’t be in the way of my everyday life.  I was seeking a compact treadmill and I came across a someone on a “I Hate Men” site (by the way I don’t hate men lol – you should really check that site out) who raved about the TR1000 that she had purchased.  Two weeks after I saw that comment, I went out and bought it and now I have an elliptical machine and a treadmill.

This morning when I was driving to work I was listening to the radio and I had a commercial that said, “Do you ever have trouble staying on a diet because you are constantly hungry?”  I think that assumption is because people think that eating less food is the way to diet.  Now, I’m no doctor, BUT I think that it’s the KIND of food people eat when they are on a “diet.”  I try and alter my eating habits when I’m eating “healthy” but sometimes I’ll break down to chocolate, twizzlers…you know all that good stuff :)

Diet Pills?

Right now I’m trying to stick to a diet and exercise plan so I can get ready for bathing suit weather, it isn’t that far away – unfortunately.  I’ve been eating fairly well and using my elliptical trainer for at least 20 minutes every day after work.  I was considering going on a diet pill, in addition to eating well and exercising until I was reading opinions online of people’s experiences.  Did anyone hear about that new Alli Diet??  That is the first diet pill that came to mind when I was looking online…and boy did the site make it come off like it would just “wash away the fat.”  I was reading reviews and they were saying that users were recommended to be aware of frequent bathroom mishap.  My jaw dropped!  No way am I wearing a diaper just to lose some weight, I”ll still to regular fitness equipment even though it’s such a hassel to take time out of your day to get all sweaty and tired, in the long run it’s better than having to crap your pants to shed the weight.

Worst Diets

January 28, 2009 by admin

Every year someone comes out with the newest diet THAT WORKS, but then just like the year before that NO DIET except exercise and eating healthy actually work. What is it that make these diet plans on TV so intriguing? Is it the fact that they have pictures of people who dropped pounds like none of us could even imagine? Or is it that we don’t see the tiny print in the bottom that says, “these results aren’t typical.”

Whatever the reason is, Newsweek compiled a list of the 6 Worst Diet Fads:

  1. The Fat-Free Diet: Just because products say fat-free doesn’t mean that it’s healthy. A lot of the times foods labeled fat-free contain large amounts of sugar, hence why fat-free food usually tastes just as good
  2. The Snack-Pack Diet: Many of the new 100-calories snack packs aren’t even healthy foods…they’re cookies and junk
  3. The Couch-Potato Diet: Decreasing what you eat and not increasing your level of activity will not keep the pounds off, BUT changing your eating habits and regularily exercise is known to wipe away pounds
  4. The Detox Plan: There is no proof that cleaning out your insides will make you healthier
  5. The Beef and Bacon Diet: That doesn’t even sound healthy
  6. The Twinkie Diet: Only eating junk food, like twinkies decreases the amount of vitamins your body is getting

If you ask me, I suggest sticking to the old fashion eating healthy and moderate to regular exercise. BUY an exercise machine and see what happens!!

Quit Smoking Lose Weight

Apparently teenagers that smoke heavily are more likely to be overweight adults.  Then there is the assumption that when people quit smoking weight gain is expected.  Personally I think that a lot of this is in the minds of the smokers.  Smokers trying to quit are expecting to gain weight because of the “assumption” and reputation of quitting.  I say quit smoking, buy a treadmill to take your mind off of having the urge to stick a cancer stick in your mouth and LIVE YOUR LIFE!

Good luck to all!

Exercising with an Elliptical & Mini Banana’s

Week 2 of exercising with an elliptical. This past weekend when I was at a local grocery store instead of picking up a big bundle of banana’s I found mini bananas. I never saw bananas this small before…so I had to buy them. They taste pretty much the same and are just as healthy as the “normal” sized bananas. The only downfall to these teeny tiny bananas are peeling them!  It can be a tricky task, but I find that eating a quick snack a couple times throughout the day can add to a great weight exercise program!

Worried about Man-Boobs?

Apparently, figures are to be released that men opting for breast reduction surgery has increased by nearly half.  Now I’m wondering is this because less and less people are taking the time to exercise?  These days life in general are becoming more rapid, everyone seems to be in a hurry.  Whether it’s their work-life, love-life, family-life…etc.  Taking 30 minutes out of your day to do any sort of excessive movement can be helpful, it’s better than going to work and sitting on your butt and then going home and playing video games all night.

So, if you’re scared of man-boobs, muffin top, rolls or whatever it maybe alter your daily activity slightly and results will happen eventually.

It’s workout season

After everything was said and done I bought my very first elliptical trainer yesterday! It fit perfectly in my room and only took my dad and my boyfriend an hour to put together. My friend purchased a space-saver treadmill two weeks ago, and is enjoying her experience thus far.  Today we started a plan to exercise daily and eat healthy.  I’m wondering the difference in results we will find, since we are both using two completely different exercise machines.

I’m starting my workout tonight and am hoping I don’t wake up tomorrow incredibly sore tomorrow.  The first workout in beginner level is 30 minutes.  Wish me luck!!
