A Sperm Count Booster
Studies have shown that zinc can boost sperm count. It can certainly be taken in tablet form, but we’ve been told the body absorbs it more readily when it occurs naturally in food. With this yummy recipe you can sneak it onto your guy’s (aka, sperm donor) menu. It features two zinc rich foods: chick peas and tahini (sesame) paste.
Zinc-On-The-Sly Hummus Recipe
- 1 can chick peas (also called garbanzo beans)
- 1/4 cup tahini paste (found at any natural grocer)
- Juice of one lemon
- Two crushed garlic cloves
- Splash of olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Rinse chick peas in water. Combine all ingredients in food processor or blender until thoroughly combined. Serve with pita bread and veggies like cucumber, carrots and red bell pepper.

Fast Food – Too Accessible?
Some days we find ourselves in a hurry and need to grab a bite to eat…where do we look? . . . FAST FOOD. When I drive home from work I pass 5 fast food chains and they are all in neon bright lights and persuasive deals, but should we eat those convenient foods just becaue they are so convenient?? After eating something that is calorie filled working it off is a must, either running on your treadmill or elliptical trainer burning that burger and fries off is necessary, if not repeatedlyconsuming fast food can lead to health problems. A friend had told me that she heard New York was trying to pass a tax on soda to encourage people to drink less soda. I’m wondering if America will ever get to the point of doing something with Fast Food Chains??

Heart Attack Grill
King-Mag.com referred to the Heart Attack Grill as the greatest restaurant. After looking at the article and visiting the actual site it looks more like the UNHEALTHIEST restaurant around. The menu consists of items, such as french fries cooked in lard, burgers with 2 lbs of meat totaling an average of 8,000 calories and that is just for ONE MEAL!! I’m wondering how many of their customers actually end up having heart attacks??
Another bonus to finish a meal there is getting an escort to your car in a wheelchair by a waitress dressed as a nurse…lol Those customers need to find an exercise to lose weight if they keep eating at the Heart Attack Grill on a regular basis.
Fight a Cold
An article listed the best foods to fight the common cold:
- 7 servings of fruits & veggies along with 8-10 glasses of water
- Yogurt
- Sweet Potatoes
- Tea (Black Tea)
- Chicken Soup
- Beef
- Mushrooms
- Fish and Shellfish
- Garlic
- Oats and Barley
Along with eating well, regularly using your exercise machines can help prevent colds, at least that is what a friend told me.
Swallowing Gum – 7 Years in Stomach?
We’ve all heard someone tell us, “Don’t swallow your gum or it will stay in your stomach for 7 years.” BUT is that true? Apparently our parents were wrong!! Gum is easily digested like any other food product. The only part of gum that the digestive system ‘thinks’ twice about digesting is the gum base (the part that gives gum the stickiness/chewyness). Eventually everything is digested just like any other food.

Food can determine the sex of a baby?
There have been studies done and reasoning to believe that the way a mother eats during her pregnancy will determine the sex of the baby.
I say it’s a 50/50 shot for either and be happy with whatever God gives you!

FDA Confirms Salmonella in Peanut Butter Crackers
What’s the deal with peanut butter these days? Over the past year I’ve been hesitant to even make a PB&J. The FDA confirmed that salmonella was found in peanut butter crackers, a Kellogg product. Hundreds of Americans have turned ill by this and there are even deaths related back to the peanut butter issue. The problem is tracing back to a peanut butter plant in Blakely, Georgia.
I am eager to see how this whole issue pans out….stay tuned!
